Have You Lost Your Sparkle?
Have you ever looked around at your life and thought...
Where did I go?
Not sadness exactly. Just... flat. Like the color has slowly drained out of life.
Like you're moving through the days, checking the boxes, taking care of everyone else...
But you're not really living.
I know that feeling because I've been there recently.
I found myself overwhelmed. Frustrated. Disheartened by the heaviness of the world, the injustice, the constant demands of life... and yes, perimenopause.
Instead of letting that rage consume me, I decided to rebel in the most beautiful way I could.
I created.
I made art. I got my hands in the dirt. I rearranged a corner of my home to make it feel more peaceful. None of those things changed the world overnight—but they changed me.
Here's what I've come to know:
Women are creators at our core.
When we stop creating, we slowly lose touch with our power, our purpose, and our vitality.
It sounds almost too simple to be true, but creating beauty—even in the smallest ways—is what fans the flame of our spirit. It reminds us that we still have the power to influence our world. To bring more life where there was none before.
And here's the part neuroscience teaches us that most people get backward:
Motivation doesn't come before action. It comes after it.
The neurochemicals that make us feel energized and motivated are released because we move, create, and take action—not because we waited until we felt inspired.
So don't wait.
Paint something.
Plant something.
Bake something.
Write something.
Rearrange a room.
Dance in your kitchen.
Create something beautiful simply because it did not exist before you brought it into the world.
Think of your passion like a fire.
If you don't tend it, it slowly grows cold.
But when you feed it—again and again—it becomes your magnetism. Your energy. Your courage. Your light.
And I know something else, too...
A world filled with women who are alive with passion, creativity, and conviction is a world that is impossible to keep small.
So I'm asking you to make one commitment today.
Hit reply and tell me one small (or big) thing you'll create today simply to honor your power as a creator.
Not because it's productive.
Not because you'll make money.
Not because anyone else will see it.
But because your spark deserves tending.
And the world needs more women whose fire is fully lit.
With love,
Shannon
